What is SBTi?

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) provides companies with a scientifically grounded framework for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Focused on limiting global warming to 1.5°C, SBTi ensures corporate targets meet rigorous standards and contribute to meaningful climate action. 

By approving our targets, SBTi recognizes Transcenda’s responsibility as a technology-driven company to operate sustainably and address emissions throughout our business ecosystem.

Understanding our targets

As a global software design and engineering company, our approved targets reflect the nature of our business and its environmental impact:

• Maintaining zero Scope 1 emissions through 2030: Scope 1 refers to direct emissions from physical operations.
• Reducing absolute Scope 2 emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2023 baseline: Scope 2 emissions stem from energy use, such as electricity for powering our equipment.
• Measuring and reducing Scope 3 emissions: Scope 3 represents the broader impact of our value chain, including emissions from business travel, cloud infrastructure, and the lifecycle of the software solutions we deliver.

These targets represent a comprehensive approach to addressing emissions across both our operations and the lifecycle of the digital products we deliver.
